End of last week, Hampton Court Palace had just launched their summer music festival.
Live concerts playing in the historic courtyard, and picnics and Pimms in the gardens, its what being British in summer is all about.
Hampton Court Palace is best known as the residence of Henry VIII. It was a pretty good home, having tennis courts, a bowling alleys, pleasure gardens, a hunting park and the best bit, a kitchen covering 36,000 square feet! Someones got there priorities sorted.
But this summer is all about live performances. Luckily for the performers, there is no risk of them getting their heads chopped off if someone doesn't like it.
Anyone watching the show that evening can come into the gardens, bring a picnic and make full use of the outside bar.
You can even hire your own gazebo.
Me and Ella decided to make the most of the glorious sunshine and order a few rounds of wine. I wish I'd brought a picnic too, who can resist a good sausage roll?
We couldn't just sit around drinking though. The gardens are way too pretty, so off we went for a wander.
I'm wearing my go to LBD from ASOS and my just amazing studded Kandee Shoes. The yellow are out of stock, but here are the red ones.
Oh come on, how could we not?
Soon we were off to the courtyard to see Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. I've always loved him, and if I ca't be bothered to go out New Years, I'll watch his Hootenanny.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, check this out:
A little after 9 the drums started, trumpets blared, saxophones went and my gosh their were singers with incredible lungs.
It's just the most fun atmosphere, and trust me you won't be able to stay in your seat for long.
Itchy feet, hips start to swing, and soon your arms are in the air.
It's really hard to convey how fun it was in pictures. Dancing to blues big band music under the stars. Just a fantastic night out.
The festival is on until the 23rd of June with other performers like Paloma Faith and Alfie Boe.
So go grab your tickets quick. You won't regret it.
